Virtual Quilting Guild JAN 2009

JANUARY
Block: Free Choice - you pick the block pattern
Colors: Black, White, plus one bright color of your choice
There are lots of blocks available on the web as free downloads. Just make sure the finished block size is 12” (12-1/2” with seam allowances). The block can be pieced, appliqued, paper pieced, or even embroidered. The choice is yours!
I suggest the following sites to start your search:
Quilters Cache - http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html
McCall’s Quilting - http://www.mccallsquilting.com/
World Wide Quilt - http://www.quilt.com/
Victoriana Quilts - http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/

as you finish your block you can go to
http://www.flickr.com/groups/931717@N25/ and up load your pics into the virtual quilting guild of etsy pool
when everyone has uploaded their finished blocks pics onto the guilds photo pool. I will put everyones names that participated into a hat and draw a winner of all the blocks for the month of Jan. Each one of us will then mail our block to the winner.

good glad to have FnQ
well I hadn't thought of to many details, but Moran suggested that we make a quilt out of some of the blocks and then everyone puts their names in and see who gets the quilt. this would be a once a year thing. and I am not sure which block that we would do this with. I am thinking up some details. If you have any suggestions pls let me know

Sounds like fun. Never done black and white before. Count me in.

I'll get going on the block tomorrow. Is there a deadline? You might want to talk about the details again on the Quiltsy thread for more people.

Moran, thanks for posting this link in the quiltsy chat! I forgot until that post that I signed up for this. I need to reread all the details & get cracking!

I am uploading mine now. My black print has a red squiggle running through it. I let that be my bright. Hope it's ok. If not, I can drop back & punt :)

Ok, I have decided to redo my block & make the interior pinwheel red. I will post my pic on Saturday...I think it will look pretty cool and much more in line with the challenge :)
