Virtual Quilting Guild JAN 2009

JANUARY
Block: Free Choice - you pick the block pattern
Colors: Black, White, plus one bright color of your choice
There are lots of blocks available on the web as free downloads. Just make sure the finished block size is 12” (12-1/2” with seam allowances). The block can be pieced, appliqued, paper pieced, or even embroidered. The choice is yours!
I suggest the following sites to start your search:
Quilters Cache - http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html
McCall’s Quilting - http://www.mccallsquilting.com/
World Wide Quilt - http://www.quilt.com/
Victoriana Quilts - http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/

as you finish your block you can go to
http://www.flickr.com/groups/931717@N25/ and up load your pics into the virtual quilting guild of etsy pool
when everyone has uploaded their finished blocks pics onto the guilds photo pool. I will put everyones names that participated into a hat and draw a winner of all the blocks for the month of Jan. Each one of us will then mail our block to the winner.

click the friday feature title to link to her shop

I would like to send out a huge congrats to Jaci on her first two sales WoW! Great job Jaci keep up the great work. Those bird feeder catchers are great idea

Every Friday I will feature a new Etsy artist. To qualify to be featured as my Friday feature this artist must have an Etsy account that is less then a month old and no sales. I want to help these artist reach their first sale. I remember how hard it was to get noticed and get my first sale and how exciting it was to get that first sale.

My first featured artist is Jacistuff

THIS IS MY DREAM

I had this dream last night that I could use my blog to unite my new Etsy friends and fill my dream I have had for awhile. I live in the woods of New Hampshire and the Wal-Mart (the only place near by that I can get supplies for quilting) is doing away with the fabric department. I have wanted to have a quilt shop for a few years now. But I don't have the funds right now to have my own full shop. So I was thinking that this is a great way to help some of my Etsy friends too. My friends that have fabric shops and quilting supplies can post thier shops here on my blog. I want to have a quilt block a month and a quilt a year little mini lessons on quilting.
